چکیده

In this paper, we analyze a scheduling algorithm which is suitable for the heterogeneous traffic network. In the large deviation setting, we are interested to see, how the asymptotic decay rate of maximum queue overflow probability achieved by this algorithm. We first derive an upper bound on the decay rate of the queue overflow probability as the queue overflow threshold approaches infinity. Then, we study several structural properties of the minimum cost path of the maximum queue length. Given these properties, we prove that the maximum queue length follows a sample path with linear increment. For certain parameter values, the scheduling algorithm is asymptotically optimal in reducing the maximum queue length. Through numerical results, we have show the large deviation properties of the queue length typically used in practice. Index Terms Scheduling, Heterogeneous Traffic, Large Deviation Principle.

Improving Tor security against timing and traffic analysis attacks with fair randomization

The Tor network is probably one of the most popular online anonymity systems in the world. It has been built based on the volunteer relays from all around the world. It has a strong scientific basis which is structured very well to work in low latency mode that makes it suitable for tasks such as web browsing. Despite the advantages, the low latency also makes Tor insecure against timing and tr...

Implementation Of Modified Fuzzy Priority Scheduler For MANET And Performance Analysis with mixed Traffic

In this paper, we investigate the performance of a fuzzy based Priority Scheduler in wireless Adhoc networks, with real time traffic under varying channel conditions. An Adhoc network is composed of mobile nodes connected by wireless links without any preexisting infrastructure. The network’s dynamic topology poses challenging problems for QoS routing. Hence a scheduling discipline can be used ...

Performance Characterization of Traffic Equalizers on Heterogeneous Communication Links

Aggregating the bandwidth of multiple low-cost physical communication links to form a single, higher capacity logical link is a common and inexpensive approach to increasing network performance. Aggregating or bonding links has traditionally been used in relatively static settings such as LAN-WAN interconnection, where the component links to be aggregated were typically identical (e.g., multipl...

On satellite multicast to heterogeneous receivers

We propose a framework for single-source, satellite-based multicast dissemination of bulk files. The framework trades off between reception delay and bandwidth usage and coexists with terrestrial background network traffic; specifically TCP traffic utilizing a short-term congestion control mechanism. The framework consists of two major components: 1) a multicast rate scheduling mechanism that u...

End-to-End Statistical Delay Guarantees using Earliest Deadline First (EDF) Packet Scheduling

This paper develops a framework for statistically guaranteeing end-to-end delay bounds to envelopeconstrained connections transporting real-time traffic in a network of switches employing the Earliest Deadline First (EDF) packet scheduling scheme in conjunction with per-hop traffic shaping. The performance of an isolated EDF scheduler fed by markovian sources has been studied earlier in the lit...
